Walk Glasgow Health Walks

Walk Glasgow is a partnership project that aims to promote and develop walking opportunities across Glasgow. One of its roles is to work with local organisations to establish and support community health walks.

A health walk is a FREE, short, gentle and friendly led walk up to 2 miles long for all ages and abilities. They are a great way to meet new people and take the first steps towards a healthier lifestyle. The walks are all led by trained volunteers.

Why Walk?

Walking is one of the easiest ways of getting active;

  • It's free
  • No special equipment is required
  • It's accessible, almost anyone can do it
  • It's low impact so therefore there are low risks of injury

Walking regularly:

  • Reduces the risk of developing heart disease, certain cancers & type II diabetes by up to 50%
  • Helps with weight management
  • Promotes good mental health and wellbeing
  • Improves sleep

See our 'where can I walk?' to find details of all the health walks.
